You don’t need a special occasion

to host a special event

Inspired by the Greek word Philoxenia - the ancient Greek art of hospitality. Philoxenia literally translates to “Love Strangers” - and that’s what Philo is all about. Bringing people together, especially women, to create & have those magical moments around a table, learning something, and developing a connection with someone new.

philo means:

Inspired conversation

Hospitality as a form of love

Connecting around a beautiful table

Supporting and empowering women

Bringing together diverse groups to create meaningful connections

philo promise:

At every Philo event, you’ll find the Philo magic; those details & moments that have you walking away from an event with that tingling feeling. It’s the same feeling you get when you fall in love - with a partner, your city, your passion. It’s heady, buzzy, magic.

The Philo magic is telling a story & weaving elements of the story throughout the event whether in the food, drinks, decor, florals, or conversation topics. A Philo event has guests leaving feeling like they learned something new, or built a deeper connection with someone.

Hi, I’m Erica, the founder of Philo Studio.

All of my favorite memories were created around a beautiful table in a space that felt like home. My goal is to create that for you.

I believe everyone deserves to create the magical feeling that happens when you bring together incredible people, food, and ambiance. Reasons to celebrate can be found anywhere.

My studio brings together two of my passions - creating beautiful moments and spaces. As a former journalist and then food editor at a media company, my philosophy is strongly rooted in telling stories. Together, we’ll create the story you want to tell at your event, for your brand, or in your home.

I am Greek and Italian and am inspired by Mediterranean influences like linens and earthenware. I love bringing in antique and vintage pieces alongside modern ones. I love neutrals with earthy colors like green and rust. I live in Park Slope, Brooklyn and am inspired by the architecture and history of the neighborhood’s Brownstones. Above all, I love creating beautiful moments that inspire you.
